Helping Hands
Helping Hands provides meals for members of the congregation who are in need of short term assistance, such as those returning home from a hospital stay. Helping Hands may also provide meals following funeral/memorial services in the church. These meals are provided by members of the congregation who have volunteered to be called on when such needs arise.
Pictorial Directory
The Membership Committee is also responsible for the publication of the congregation's membership directory. Pictorial directories are updated and printed every three to five years.
Joining Faith Community
Faith Community Presbyterian Church offers New Member Orientation as needed. Orientations are scheduled at 11:30 AM following the 10:00 AM worship service. These meetings are often preceded by a Visitors' Luncheon, which offers the opportunity to interact with members of the congregation and learn more about the church. Anyone interested in learning more about Faith Community Presbyterian Church is invited to attend. Please call the church office at 248-349-2345 to inquire about the next Visitors' Luncheon or New Member Orientation. These meetings are informational only, and you are under no obligation to join.
FESTIVAL OF FAITH AND THE ARTS
The Faith and the Arts Committee at Faith Community Presbyterian Church is planning an exhibition of art over the weekend of May 14-16, 2010. Displaying art in the exhibit will provide an opportunity for artists to express their faith through art and will offer those who come to see it an opportunity to observe expressions of faith through the arts.
The cornerstone of the exhibition will be a renowned sculpture called "The Beloved" by Kayb Carpenter. This work of art expresses Ms Carpenter's faith in a biblical context from God's promise to Abraham through the restoration of God with his people through Jesus.
We are inviting artists from our local area to be part of this exhibit. We are currently accepting applications for works of art, in any material form - oils, watercolor, sculpture, textiles, photography, quilting, etc. Artwork may relate to an Old or New Testament theme or it may be an expression of the everyday living out of our faith.
The entry fee will be $35 for adults and $25 for students under 18. Participants may offer their art for sale to the general public, with a portion of the proceeds to be donated to Faith Community Church. If you are interested in presenting your art for consideration or if you have any questions, please call the Church at (248) 349-2345 or Email rjh faithcommunity-novi.org to request an application form. Faith Community Presbyterian Church is located at 44400 Ten Mile, Novi, Michigan.
